Class Description
Combination Classes
Combination classes focus on a variety of dance styles such as ballet and hip-hop or tap and Jazz, etc. Dancers will learn cartwheels, floor gymnastics, flips, front and back walkovers, and handstands and backbends.
Leap and Turn Class
This class is designed to assist dancers in focusing on leaps, jumps, and turns that dancers perform in Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. Must be enrolled in Ballet/Technique class to enroll in this class.
Contemporary/Lyrical/Jazz
These classes teach dancers emotion and storytelling through dance. Teacher permission is required.
Ballet/Jazz Technique
Emphasizes proper posture and developing a good ballet foundation. These classes focus on flexibility, strengthening, and conditioning to develop the skills necessary to help develop beautiful dancer lines.
Tumbling/Tricks
Incorporates basic ballet techniques and focus on tricks learned in gymnastics and contemporary dance.
Policies Open Enrollment Classes for dancers who want to dance without the commitment of purchasing a costume or participating in the recital. Levels Beginner: 0-2 years of dance instruction Intermediate: 3-4 years of dance instruction Advance: 4+ years of dance instruction Attendance Attendance is very important to improve skill levels. Plan to attend class regularly and inform the studio when your child will be absent Class Observations Parents/guardians are welcome to observe the first class of each month. Depending on the teacher’s preference and students’ ability to focus during class, the curtain to the classroom window may be open or closed. Professional Pictures Professional pictures will be taken of the dancers in costume during the month of April. These pictures are a great memento of your child/ren’s dance season. Class pictures appear in the recital program. Hollywood Studio of Dance Newsletter Hollywood Swingin’ newsletter is available monthly to inform parents/guardians of all activities related to the dance Studio. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to read the newsletter each month. Practice CD CDs containing the music your child will be dancing to will be available in late January. Missed Classes No credit is given for missed classes due to weather or Government mandatory closures
